Precision Saw Base

The Precision Saw Base is meant to replace the lighter-duty base that comes with the Makita 10-1/4" (Model 5201N-A) and 16" (Models 5402-A and 5402NA) portable circular saws. Bases are milled from 3/8" aluminum and use quality mounting hardware. No depth of cut is lost and the degree of bevel is increased to 60 degrees on the 16" model and 50 degrees on the 10-1/4" model. The bases are easy to install and greatly improve the accuracy and stability of the saws.

The bases and mounting brackets are slightly different for each saw. Order either the 16" or 10-1/4" saw base to fit the model number of the saw you are mounting the base to. The base for the Makita 10-1/4" (Model 5201N-A) is smaller than the larger bases.

The base for the 16" Model 5402-A (older gold color housing) has a different rear bracket than the 16" 5402NA (newer blue housing), but otherwise the bases are interchangeable. Please indicate which model of the 16" saw you have when you order below.

The Precision Saw Base and brackets for the older 5402-A can be used on the newer 5402NA but would limit the bevel to 45 degrees instead of 60 degrees without the different rear bracket.

Price for the 16" and 10-1/4" sawbases is the same: $290 each plus shipping and handling (see chart). Order the item by the region where you live.
